We have a range of programmes where help is always appreciated and there maybe something here that interests you.

Seasons for Growth

A programme for children 6 years+ and adults dealing with grief or loss resulting from some significant change in their life.

Role: To assist children with their own grief
Session Days Session Time Age group Training Required
Weekdays 1 hour per week plus preparation time over 8 weeks for each programme. Children 6 year upward. 2 days and working for at least one term with an experienced Season’s for Growth Companion
Role: To assist parents to support their children as their child works through their grief
Session Days Session Time Age group Training Required
Weekdays Either concurrent with children’s afterschool session 1 hour per week or 3 hours over 2 nights for interested community group sessions Parents 1 day additional training for those trained to work with children, and working for a least one term with an experienced Season’s for Growth Companion.
Role: To assist parents to support their children as their child works through their grief
Session Days Session Time Age group Training Required
Weekdays Daytime or evening groups for one and a half hours over 5 or 6 weeks. Also requires additional 2 hours for set up, cleaning and planning. Adults Either 2 days of a children’s training and an additional 1 day adults training or 2 day adult training only.

All volunteers work with an accredited trained Seasons for Growth Companion and this extra qualification may be something that interests you as well.

Space 

A support, networking and educational programme for first time caregivers and their babies. Sessions involve time for sharing and connecting as well as educational topics relevant to the age of the babies, music and craft.

Role: To interact with and support new mums.  To hold baby if mums wish, to talk to the mums and assist with general running of the group and to engage with the programme.

During school term time and school hours only. Sessions are for two hours per week for the first year of the babies life (three hours including session set up and pack down time). Birth to 1 year old babies, and mum and dad, or caregiver. Yes if you wish to be involved with the leading of a group.

Oasis

A playgroup, music, craft and story time and social interaction for care-givers and pre-school children.

Role: Welcome people as they arrive. Interact with adults and children helping to create a warm and inviting session where caregivers feel at ease and children enjoy their time to play. Supporting the co-ordinator in activities and to help the sessions run smoothly.

Food Parcels

We provide food parcels for families struggling to feed themselves

Roles: Collect food that has been donated from organisations like New World, and deliver food parcels (there is usually more than just one box so a  vehicle is required.)
